I was first ‘introduced’ to yoga and yoga postures years ago when I came across a book that belonged to my aunt. The part of the book that really got my attention was where it said that doing the movements could make one grow taller. After trying almost daily for a couple of weeks and seeing no change in my height, I lost interest in yoga and asana.
Years later, I started practising capoeira (Afro Brazilian dance/martial art) and my love for movement started to grow. I enrolled for a course in Anatomy and Pilates. Along the way I came across a style of yoga called Ashtanga Vinyasa. In 2012 I was blessed to be trained in Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga by internationally certified Ashtanga yoga teacher, Sharon Moon, a lovely teacher and human being. My thirst for more knowledge led me to get further training in another yoga style, Kundalini yoga.
Alas, I am not any taller, but I believe I have gained some very useful knowledge along the way which I feel privileged to share with you all.
Peace
