About | Monica Karanja is the CEO/Founder of Simply connect Out of Africa BTS, a NACADA licensed premier Addiction treatment facility that treats both addiction and co-occurring disorders in Naivasha, right on the shores of Lake Naivasha, on Moi Southlake Road, which provides a remote and quiet atmosphere away from normal daily intrusions.

Practice Description | Monica Karanja is a therapist, with an emphasis in drug and alcohol counseling. Monica was initially certified by the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) & currently certified by Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association (KCPA). Monica has over 5 years of counseling experience and over 20 years in the business industry. She combines her clinical counseling expertise with her business knowledge to offer clients a unique perspective of problem solving. Monica has an MBA degree in Business Administration and undergraduate degree in Finance from California State University, Long Beach, California. She obtained her counseling Diploma from California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) & currently maintains her credentials through Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association (KCPA). She has served as a volunteer in her community feeding the homeless through St. Vincent De Paul programs. Prior to her therapy practice, Monica worked in multinational, high-tech environments as a financial & business analyst, consultant, and training SME. She has worked extensively with individuals at varied business levels, as well as with groups and organizations both domestically and internationally. Monica’s clinical experience includes outpatient settings, substance abuse treatment facilities, disaster response teams and private practice. Her clients range from large corporations to small- and family-owned businesses, to non-profit agencies and individuals. Monica is also highly interested in the prevention of cruelty to animals and, when appropriate, supports the use of animal-assisted therapy as part of her clinical work. She supports the local animal shelter The Kenya Society for Protection and care of Animals (KSPCA) and holds membership with and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. |
